Kindred

Kindred was a band that played in 2022 after Diego Romero-Aros and Steven Savage began writing music together following a relatively dormant period in music. With Merger's break-up and Steven's departure from Think Machine, both were excited about the prospect of playing again. The two had known each other for years - Steven had been an early (if not only) fan of Diego's first band Paint The Sun while the band was actively performing.

The two found that their writing styles complimented one another, but without a drummer it was difficult to find a path forward to continue. The two became friends with Declan Poehler after Diego had a conversation with Isa Teixeira from Death By Indie, who said Declan had been an accomplished drummer for years. The three began to practice and work on material, with Diego playing dual roles in guitar and vocals,

Filling out the band was Evan Kipp who, living at Impetus House and on a hiatus from Think Machine, found time to be able to practice with the band on guitar. This line-up allowed Diego to focus on lyrics and vocals exclusively, as he had hoped

The band only performed a dozen or so shows prior to their break-up in October 2022, but was able to complete a northeast tour with Kobika and recording an album, slated for release in 2025.

Made during the recording of the album, a series of demo tracks were released initially on bandcamp as the "Secret Demo", which is now available on our site as a digital download.

A live version of their song "Another Episode", recorded by hate5six in Wilmington, DE, is featured on the Impetus compilation Between Two Cities.
